was organized on Wednesday, Nov 11, 1931, with 23 Charter
Members and their children. Services were held in the
shoolhouse every Sunday for two years. During this
time plans were going forward for a church building. The
present site was purchased for a sum of $75 from Nels Olson. An
abandoned church building was given to the group and the
men of the church tore it down, brought the usable materials
to the site, and the present building was erected. The
first pews were built by Pastor Rueben Johnson in 1942. Current
pews were acquired from a church in Superior. In 1947
electric lights were installed. In the 1950s a basement was
added. We remember with gratitude all those who have been
instrumental in carrying on the work of the church over the years. |
